At the ceremony on the 30th anniversary of the founding of RENEA, Çuçi said that, “the last three decades were defined by extraordinary successes achieved through hard work and sacrifices of people like you, seemingly ordinary, but also by valuable lessons for the future, since, on November 12, 1991, this detachment was christened the RENEA. “Since that distant November, this name has accompanied every sensational, dangerous and at the same time successful operation of the State Police.”

Today, this unit is the “elite” of the State Police, and this glorifying title has not been bestowed either through a mysterious procedure or through a bureaucratic act. “RENEA has won the crown of glory through endless sacrifices, lives lost and wounded among its ranks, in uncompromising battles with crime!” Çuçi said.

“During its journey in these 30 years, this detachment has undergone significant changes to reach the model we have today. But this journey has not been easy at all. Since its inception, this detachment has successfully organized and resolved 2,827 high-risk operations, averaging 94 operations per year, or approximately 1 operation every 4 days. It is a known fact that RENEA has saved dozens of human lives in hazard operations, as well as in cases of natural disasters, fires and various accidents. The tasks performed by this elite detachment of the State Police, range from the release and rescue of hostages, to the capture and dismantling of armed groups of high social risk to the provision of assistance in cases of civil emergencies, “Çuçi said.

“We, as a government, have given undivided attention to RENEA, by improving the legal framework and financial treatment, modernizing, renovating and strengthening the material base, equipment and logistics, bring it to the level of counterpart forces of European Union countries, ” said Çuçi.
