TIRANA, July 28 /ATA/- By I.Vata/ Representatives of the Democratic Party discussed together with citizens in Elbasan the issue of Territorial Administrative Reform, as one of the most consequential reforms for the well-being of Albanian citizens.

Vice Chairman of the Democratic Party/ member of the Parliamentary Commission for Territorial Reform Oerd Bylykbashi, the Secretary for Legal Affairs in DP Ivi Kaso, the Secretary for Local Government Affairs Ylli Asllani, as well as heads of DP in Elbasan in their discussions emphasized that the territorial division in place is entirely political and as such as had negative impact on the citizens, especially in relation to the municipalities, where corruption, fictitious works and the lack of services are prevalent.

In his remarks, the vice-chairman of the DP, Luciano Boçi, said that this meeting is intended to bring up the concerns associated with one of the most important reforms, which is the Territorial Administrative Reform.

“The Administrative Reform has been high on the agenda, but so far it has not made inroads into the problems facing the citizens. The results of 2015 were a disaster in relation to what is considered the main focus of this reform. The division that was carried out at that time was entirely political. A division that has had negative impact on all citizens, especially in the communes. In addition to corruption and fictitious works, citizens are grappling with the lack of services, prompting them to spend hours on end to obtain a document, to solve the most vital problems. The citizen does not receive any type of service, except for increased fees and taxes for services that never reach the community.”
