Rama said that “there is a debate ongoing why the President was not elected by the people and on repetition of the same process, which nevertheless remains confined to the framework of the activity of political parties in parliament.”

“Of course, this topic is worthy of discussion. Under the current conditions, the President is elected by the Assembly, but we have the obligation to give people the opportunity to express themselves on this topic, of course by setting several milestones, ” said Rama.

According to him, “Albania is a parliamentary Republic and a President elected by the People cannot fit into its institutional and Constitutional structure with these attributes and competencies that the figure of President has.”
