Pirdeni stated, “The purpose of this decision is to guarantee the impartiality of the electoral process and a level playing field for all candidates across political forces, while considering the public administration’s duty, as outlined in the Electoral Code, to ensure impartiality throughout this process.”

The Minister explained that the decision aims to clarify the responsibilities of public sector employees, particularly civil servants, during the electoral process, ensuring compliance with their constitutional rights while addressing their specific obligations within the public administration.

Pirdeni stressed that tighter obligations apply to employees of the State Police, Republic Guard, active military, and the State Intelligence Service, emphasizing the need for their depoliticization during this period.

The Minister also emphasized, “This decision explicitly stipulates that, as mandated by the Electoral Code, the Department of Public Administration will put on hold all recruitment procedures during the electoral campaign, running from April 11 to May 11, in order to ensure a regular and fair electoral process.”
