“It is 15 months now since the earthquake hit our country and 15 months since the affected families have benefited constant support leaving no one outside, not a single day. Other than that, work has continued apace to build their new homes.”

During a span of 15 months, affected families have moved into new, more resilient and beautiful homes.

“The new houses are way bigger than those damaged by the earthquake. The families sharing one home have benefited 2, 3 or 4 new houses. Here in Kruja there are 700 houses.”

Rama also informed that the work has begun on access infrastructure where the terrain is very rough.

“The work done so far involved a geological study, the plan, the implementation project, the bidding and if you look down at Fushë Krujë, individual housing units will be completed by May, the apartment buildings in September-October. The same thing in Bubq, work on individual houses suffered setbacks due to pandemics during this 15-month period. While in Italy the families affected by earthquake have lived in tents for years and yet housing is not provided free of charge but supported through soft loans,” Rama said.
