In the “pandemic” year, according to data published by INSTAT, 334 new companies were added, stimulating the growth in all other economic activities, except for agriculture.

A total of 5060 companies operated in the construction sector during 2020.

Post-earthquake reconstruction, but also public works are the main driving factors that led to the expansion of companies. The government has increased public investment to 7.2% of GDP this year.
As part of reconstruction process, about 470 companies and more than 25 thousand workers have engaged in the construction of access infrastructure, schools, individual housing, apartment buildings and cultural heritage sites.
