The two co-chairmen stated that both parliaments have a great interest in sustaining a dynamic dialogue and proactively supporting the process of Albania’s integration into the EU.

“These meetings are a clear sign that both parliaments have a great interest in having a dynamic dialogue and proactively supporting the process of Albania’s integration into the EU, which has received a strong boost with the holding of the first Intergovernmental Conference in July, and with the forthcoming launch of the screening process”, said Balla.

Balla stated that this meeting was very fruitful given that it came up with a set recommendations that reflect common stances on a large number of important and current issues.

“We are proud that our common, consensus-oriented approach enabled us to close our meeting once again by adopting another set of comprehensive recommendations that reflect our common positions on a large number of issues, including geo-political assessments and our unwavering solidarity with Ukraine and the condemnation of Russian aggression, the achievements and challenges in the reform process, the protection of fundamental rights, including the rights of minorities and freedom of the media, as well as the prospect for the abolition of roaming charges between Albania, other WB countries and EU member countries”, said Balla.

This was the second meeting for 2022, after the meeting that was held in Tirana, in February.
