In his remarks, Minister of Finance and Economy highlighted the importance of the correct understanding of the legislation by the tax administration, so that it can be the best advisor for business during its enforcement.

The minister said that the tax administration is a partner with the business and in this sense emphasis should be placed on the understanding of the legislation, especially by the tax payer service.

“The Law “On Income Tax” is a good and modernizing act in the framework of income tax in the Republic of Albania. This law has been drafted in tandem with the IMF. A CoM decision has been finalized and other CoM decisions are in progress to complete the entire regulatory framework. You needed to have a clear understanding beforehand into order to ensure the correct application of the law, but also offer fair guidance of the taxpayers”, said Mete.

The main objective of the trainings that will be conducted by the Tax and Customs Administration Training Center with the support of MoFE and GDT is to inform and train the Tax Administration regarding the provisions of the new law “On Income Tax” , a part of which will start to be implemented from January 1, 2024.
