According to Tabaku, the portfolios of Albanians do not benefit anything from this outlook.

“For several years in a row, the S&P agency has assessed Albania in the same way. Despite all the propaganda drums banging for achievements, nothing goes to the wallets of Albanians. The misery of public finances is reflected in the level of corruption through corrupt taxes, tailor-made fiscal incentives and the plan for further tax increases starting from property tax to education tax, all at the expense of the middle class”, she said.

Tabaku emphasized that today, we neither have higher welfare nor more social mobility, but on the contrary, inequality has deepened.
“Informality continues to be over 30%, while 95% of Albanians pay more taxes and receive fewer services. Debt installments have benefited from the euro depreciation, which has impoverished producers and exporters. The high prices of inflation burden the meager incomes of Albanians, as the prices of the consumption basket increase by over 11%, while the pension by 50 ALL/day”, she added.
