TIRANA, Jan 26 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama quoted on Tuesday the conclusions of Italian Prosecution as part of an investigation conducted in the neighboring country based on the wiretapped conversations of some Ndrangheta mobsters who talked about investments in Albania.

Prime Minister responded to the question on this issue at the weekly news conference focused on economy.

“In fact, I will disappoint you, because I will not say anything new ‘justice will have its say on this,’ as in this case the Italian investigative group has spoken clearly, summing up a conclusion. I am reading the conclusion to prove why all this is an unprecedented shame on you all, whose duty is to inform the public, instead you keep feeding the smokescreen with gibberish which, according to the Italian prosecution, not to mine, I quote the Italian prosecution: ‘After more than 1 year of travels to Tirana and talks with each other about investments to be made in Albania, they totally failed. And the only investment made is a small shop selling work clothes which has caused conflicts between partners. In 2018, the investment in Albania, according to the balance sheets published by National Business Centre, has sold goods for 5 million lek and has lost at the end of that year 400 thousand lek, while in 2019, it recorded 4 million ALL in earnings and 1.8 million ALL in losses, ” said Rama.

Rama said that “this is a quote from the conclusions of the Italian prosecution and taking this trash and serving it to Albanians on lengthy televised broadcasts till late at night and all day long just to get a few more clicks or for the sake of TV shows is a disgrace.”

“Once again, the conclusion of the Italian prosecution, not mine, but of the Italian prosecution that has investigated based on these wiretapped conversations that you have taken and published every day, selling them as a disclosure of the links between the mafia and the state authorities in Tirana, the Italian Prosecution writes in conclusion: ‘In practice, after more than a year of travels to Tirana and talks with each other, – there is no conversation between them and the people they talk about all day and all night, – for investments that will be made in Albania, they totally failed and the only investment made is a small shop selling work clothes which has sparked conflicts between partners, – these are the conclusions of the Italian prosecution -. In 2018 Ndrangheta’s investment in Albania ‘Galo Albania,’ according to the balance sheets published by NBC has sold goods for 5 million lek and lost at the end of that year about 400 thousand lek, while in 2019 it recorded 4 million lek in earnings and 1.8 million in losses. ”
