According to the media, during the 4-day visit, on February 15 in Washington Rama will have a meeting with the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

This meeting of Prime Minister Rama comes after the decision that the US and our country will be co-penholders on Ukraine issue in the United Nations Security Council.

In addition to the Security Council and the meeting with the Secretary of State, PM is scheduled to have meetings with other officials to discuss potential cooperation in defense and education between the two countries.

This will be the second meeting between Rama and Blinken, after that on June 13, 2021 in Brussels, where the US and Albania signed a memorandum on 4G and 5G security.

Prime Minister Edi Rama’s preliminary agenda in the US:

February 14: Meeting with UN Secretary General Guterres and Albania’s official reception on the occasion of Security Council membership.
February 15: Meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
February 16: Meetings.
Earlier, Prime Minister Rama stated at a press conference that together with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, they would pay a visit to the United States as part of the agenda to establish ties at the highest political level with all Albania’s partners .
