TIRANA, April 21 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Wednesday that this government has laid the foundations of a road where no one can be overtaken to go to University.

At a meeting with the citizens in Tirana’s administrative unit 2, Rama said: To put it bluntly, 99.99% of you come from normal families. Your parents are ordinary people who have to make a lot of sacrifices to support you and put the best foot forward to enable your university studies. Your parents are unable to pay, ” said Rama.

“We have laid the foundations of a road where none of you can be overtaken by the son of a minister, by the daughter of a politician, by the children of a businessman on the way up to university because university admissions are based on merit. All of you, the first-time voters, all of you, regardless of whether you come from left-wing or right-wing families, voting anywhere other than 12 is a vote against yourself, because they will destroy the university admission system that has proved to be a success that resulted in no complaint about university admissions so far just because the system is independent.”

“Neither I, nor any minister or deputy can help a student go to faculty without merit.”
