TIRANA, Aug  27 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/- Another Albanian champion was honored Saturday with a dedicated ceremony at the Hall of Maps in the Prime Minister’s office.

Boxer Florian Marku is the champion of the WBC upper category, after a prestigious match in the ring of Air Albania, in Tirana.

Florian’s success in the victory match was greeted with rapturous applause by the citizens, mostly young men and women, sports enthusiasts and witnesses of his triumph in the world ring.

Prime Minister Edi Rama awarded the Big Star of Public Acknowledgement to the Albanian boxer Florian Marku, who triumphed two days ago in the match against the Mexican, Miguel Parra Ramirez, played at the “Air Albania” stadium.

“We stand here today to celebrate a life story similar to that of hundreds of thousands of Albanians, who as small children accompanied their parents on the path to immigration and managed it although their success does not make headlines.  Florian’s success is a headline-grabbing news, and the good news is that Florian’s success is red and black,” said Rama.
