He acknowledged that project has yet to enter an advanced stage, just it is the case with the Saranda, Vlore and Durres port projects, but he voiced confidence that the process will move forward.

“We have launched work to transform Shengjin harbour into a fishing and tourist port. We have yet to enter an advanced stage, like it is the case with the ports in Saranda and Vlore, where work has kicked off, and the Durres port project, where work is expected to start soon. However, the process is underway and we will press ahead with it,” PM Rama said.

According to the Premier, if the Socialist Party wins a third consecutive term in office, the Shengjin port can become a tourist and fishing port, but the project would be suspended if the opposition win elections.
