At a press conference shortly after the NATO Extraordinary Summit on the Russian attack against Ukraine, Prime Minister Rama said that this development has defied the entire security architecture in Europe, the institutional structure of international affairs, hitting its foundation, international law.

“We are part of the UN Security Council, but also co-drafts with the US in the Security Council, hence our position has been made clear to the world at the highest level of international affairs from the very first minutes after the launch of the attack,” he said.

On the other hand, Rama said that he follows these developments with sadness and great concern. “My thoughts and heart are with the people of Ukraine, as well as the Ukrainian leadership, whose lives are at risk now,” he said.

“I do not know if you watched during the day, either the Ukrainian president, now in military uniform and on the battlefield, or former President Poroshenko, who has also taken up arms in one of Kiev’s neighborhoods,” Rama said.

According to Prime Minister, “it is a really tragic situation, it is a development that has defied the entire security architecture in Europe, the institutional structure of international affairs, eventually hitting its foundation, international law,” Rama said.
