TIRANA, Oct 6 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama announced on Thursday from Prague, which hosted the first meeting of the European Political Community, that the WB ministers of energy will participate in the Extraordinary Ministerial that will take place in Prague alongside all the ministers of Energy to address the energy crisis from a European perspective rather than as an EU issue.

Asked in a media briefing if any commitment was made in today’s meeting to help the countries of the Western Balkans overcome the energy crisis, Rama said that, “the good news is that, upon my request to the President of the Commission a few weeks ago, it has been accepted that our energy ministers, i.e. the energy ministers in our region, will be invited to the Extraordinary Ministerial that will take place in Prague alongside all the energy ministers to address the issue of the energy crisis from a European perspective rather than from an EU one.”

“The round table where I participated alongside the Prime Minister of the Netherlands focused on the energy crisis and how our countries, starting with the countries that have opened accession negotiations, will be supported. Meanwhile I have insisted that all 6 countries, regardless of whether they have opened the accession negotiations or not should be involved,” said Rama.

Asked if the direct aid implies a dedicated fund, Rama said that, “no, we are not at that point, we are in a process.”
