TIRANA, May 14 /ATA/ “Albania has transformed the political elections into a referendum for the union of Albania with Europe as soon as possible.”

Prime Minister Edi Rama made this remark today in his victory speech for the May 11th elections, which he delivered at Skanderbeg Square in Tirana. He highlighted that Albania would serve as the focal point of Europe for three days during the European Political Community summit.

“Europe will gather in this square starting tomorrow, with all its leaders. The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom will be the first to arrive in Tirana, kicking off his visit with a bilateral meeting, marking the first time in history that a British government head has done so. Meanwhile, the President of France will be the last to leave, staying after the summit for a second bilateral visit to Tirana,” said Rama.
Rama then stated that he will start the new week with an even better image for Albania, positioning it as the Europe of the Balkans.

“Albania, for the next three days, will truly be the center of Europe. Then, I will start the new week with an even better, stronger, and prouder image as the Europe of the Balkans, which will be the leitmotif, inspiration, and source of all our energy, and certainly the strength and determination for the next four years. Have faith in Albania because Albania has faith in us. Believe more than ever that the best for Albania and Albanians is all ahead of us—not so far ahead that we can’t reach it, but just far enough that together, we will achieve it. Humbly, I respect all of you and those who, with their vote, gave us extraordinary energy. I will conclude by assuring everyone that we will not leave any part of this energy unused, and we will return it to them and to Albania,” declared Rama.
