TIRANA, Sept 30 /ATA/Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted on Monday in connection with the act of setting the parliamentary chairs on fire by opposition deputies in protest against the arrest of DP deputy Ervin Salianji.

During a meeting in his capacity as the leader of the Socialist Party with the second group of applicants on the digital platform “The Deputy We Want,” Rama showed photos of the situation unfolding outside the doors of Parliament with the fire that was set to the chairs, emphasizing that this act was a revolt staged by the opposition against the court’s decision.

“Fire has been set to the chairs of the deputies elected in the Albanian Parliament, to sit in those chairs and represent those who vote for them in protest against a court decision,” said Rama.

Rama emphasized that he shared this image to highlight the role that politics can play.

“I brought this up because I want to say a few words about politics, which for a long time, not only in Albania but also in more developed countries, has been going through tough days in public perception,” he stated.
