Accompanied by the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, the Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the family for the death of their 18-year-old son Anri Kashiku who died trying to save two lives, his younger brother and his friend.

Prime Minister Rama handed over the certificate of “Martyr of the Country” to to the family.

“According to the new law about the acts of heroism, your son who bravely and selflessly gave his own life to save two lives, is named “Martyr of the country,” said Prime Minister Rama.

“Condolences! At the family of Anri Kashik, the hero who gave his life to save two lives, his younger brother and his friend,” Rama writes in his post on his social media account, publishing a video of this visit.
Anri Kashiku died yesterday at the age of 18 trying to save two minor children and his brother.

According to the State Police, the life guard and the citizen A. K., the brother of one of the minors, also stepped in to rescue the children from drowning.

“After the life-saving operation, the children were pulled out, while the 18-year-old A. K. could not get out as he was drowned by the tidal wave,” informed the Police.

“The police officers of Durrës immediately intervened and after about 50 minutes, the dead body of citizen A. K. was pulled out of the water,” same sources say.
