In his remarks during the SP Congress, Rama said that “the earthquake and the pandemic tested our character and resilience and we overcame them both.”

“Houses, neighborhoods, schools, kindergartens, the new municipal hospital in Kurbin, the new health centers that are being added one after another to an exemplary mosaic of a real renaissance turned into a blessing for the earthquake-affected families. We cannot resurrect the lives lost to the earthquake, but for everyone else a new life is starting, much better than the life they had before the earthquake,” said Rama.

The Prime Minister stressed that this government turned the crisis into a new opportunity and now step by step into a new reality not only for the families, but for the entire area through urban development.

“I am proud today of the history that the SP as a ruling party has written forever with the powerful post-earthquake recovery and I am very proud as a socialist for the most beautiful page of this history, free houses for all affected families without exception. Something other countries richer than us have not done. We do it because we are not so rich and therefore we cannot ask for the loan interest from the poorest, no matter how concessional they might be, ” said Rama.

So he said, “everything was paid for and the government will pay for it to the last house from its budget.”

“Not forgetting the very generous help of the President of the Republic of Turkey and the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates for 550 apartment units in Kurbin and 2 thousand apartment units in Spitallë. All the rest everywhere is covered by the budget of the Republic of Albania, ” added Rama.
