TIRANA, June 8 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Wednesday that he would like to see 6 countries in the “Open Balkan” summit today.

In his remarks at the closing press conference of the “Open Balkan” summit held on Wednesday in Ohrid, Rama said that behind the “Open Balkan” were three people.

“Today it is no longer the idea of just three people and is no longer the output of three people. Today the “Open Balkan” belongs to all people and will belong to more and more people. Because suffice it to come to Ohrid by car and go through the customs point to witness the difference, where a hoarding reads “Green Corridor of the Open Balkan” which is such a great relief for all those transporting the products of their hard work. Such a relief due to removal of barriers and thanks to barrier-free roads they move faster and waste no time transporting a product or a commodity from one point to another,” he said .

“We will set up a joint group for the crisis and concrete solutions, because the crisis which is likely to be exacerbated, which has spilled over not only into our continent, but the world over, definitely requires stability and the effort of any country. But everything we can do to ease the burden of each of our countries, thanks to the cooperation between our countries, is something extremely valuable at this moment, when even the last grain of wheat will weigh as much as a sack of wheat, and even the last kilowatt of energy will have the value of one megawatt, ” Rama said.

For this reason our joint group will start working right away, while we will address through other stations of the “Open Balkan,” starting from the first station in July the proposals of the working group. Then in September, in Belgrade, the first edition of the wine and food fair as part of the “Open Balkan” will be organized with the participation of all entrepreneurs and all citizens of the entire region. Because politicians can choose to stay here or not to come here, while what we want is for all citizens to have the opportunity to get involved in all this, for the whole entrepreneurship to have the opportunity to get involved. Of course, in the first edition of the fair, a session will be dedicated to food safety, ” said Rama.

“Then the next session of the upcoming summit on energy security will be held in Albania. It is known that Albania today is clearly a very important point for the region in terms of energy supply, and on the other hand we have many opportunities to be complementary due to diverse sources of energy. Then for connectivity, transport here and for tourism and the environment in Montenegro, in order for us to have as much synergy as possible, ” said Rama.

“I am glad that today we are 5, despite previous hesitations or statuses, etc. It is a round table which is, as Dritan said this morning, an opportunity to communicate and dialogue and to make the most of it to the benefit of the common good. I wish we were 6. But one thing is for sure. Precisely because it belongs to the people, to the countries, to the future, the “Open Balkan” will neither stop nor phase out. And whoever opposes it is destined to be disappointed. And whoever hesitates is simply destined to miss the golden opportunity to benefit from this initiative. We are here and we will continue to be here because none of our countries will go anywhere else. We have not chosen each other. “
