TIRANA, Dec  12 /ATA/  – By  I. Vata/- The first deputy prime minister of North Macedonia, Artan Grubi, participated on Monday in the presentation of the project of the new Durres Commercial Port in Porto Romano.

In his remarks, Grubi spoke about the big projects between Albania and North Macedonia, such as the construction of the Skopje-Qafë-Thane highway, the railway line Skopje-Kërcovo-Pogradec-Durres and the unification of border checks.

“We are building a 6-lane highway from Skopje to Qafë-Thane, which will reduce the distance between Skopje and Tirana by 2.5 hours, and Skopje-Vlora to 3 hours. In order to have access to the port, we are planning the railway line Skopje-Kërcovo-Pogradec-Durrës. In January, we unify our two border controls  with the aim of removing the borders between us and we hope to do this with Kosovo within the next year. We are also building an interconnecting energy line between us with two projects, the station in Ohrid and the high voltage line Manastir-Elbasan,” said Grubi.

The Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister underlined that the innovation of these projects is the construction of the dry port in the city of Struga.

“An innovation that we discussed with the Prime Minister Rama at the joint govt. meeting was the construction of a dry port in the city of Struga. A new and creative dimension of communication that will undoubtedly contribute to the commercial exchange between the two countries and is an integral part of the construction of the New Port of Durrës. The day has come for us to formalize this idea today with the signing of the agreement,”  he said.
