Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today in the social media a quote from Thaçi stating that even though he is temporarily deprived of freedom, his people are eternally free.

But according to Rama, “What is not free is international justice.”

“It’s quite true, Commander. What is neither free nor good-smelling is international justice,” Rama wrote.

Hashim Thaçi, born on April 24, 1968, was the fifth president of the Republic of Kosovo.

He was the first prime minister of independent Kosovo, minister of foreign affairs and deputy prime minister in the cabinet headed by Isa Mustafa, who took office on December 12, 2014. Thaçi was also the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).

Since November 2020, Thaçi has been in custody in The Hague, facing charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity. /m.m/j.p/p.s./

Rama quoted Biden’s expression to describe the current affairs in Albania following the local elections of May 14.

At the end of the counting of votes after the May 14 process for the election of new mayors of 61 municipalities, the Socialist Party candidates won 53 municipalities and the “Together We Win” coalition 7 of them. The opposition representatives reacted by not accepting the result.
