“The main reason for this is outdated and underfunded training structures. This was identified as a central challenge as part of the Berlin Process and, based on this, an innovative instrument was developed in partnership with the RCF to finance and promote training programs that, in cooperation between state and private structures, aim to meet the needs of local companies in the future with qualified workers,” according to the press release of the embassy.

Also, the embassy announced that “RCF has seen a great regional demand: more than 480 vocational education institutions in cooperation with over 2,000 companies have so far applied for RCF support.”
“To date, about 100 projects have been selected and a total funding of about 44 million euros has been secured. But the best thing is: the number of funded projects can support 40 additional training programs with the volume of the fund that is already available (currently 72 million euros, 62 million euros from the BMZ and 10 million euros from Switzerland). This will create more than 4,000 new training places. In the future, every year around 8,000 young people can qualify for the labor market. A promising approach”, says the announcement.
