During a televised interview on the Democratic Party’s economic program, Bushati said that, “the “Basha Tax” affects 99% of Albanians.”

“I have not been informed of any successful case of flat tax. The only country that applied flat tax was Russia. Thus, flat tax has not been applied in any successful country of the world. All the developed countries have imposed the progressive tax,” Bushati said.

“Today, about 91% of businesses in Albania pay zero tax and “Basha Tax” will impose another tax on them. Today over 82% of Albanian citizens pay only up to 5% on income. Let’s not forget that more than half of businesses pay zero tax. Thus over 60% of them do not pay taxes on their personal income,” Bushati underlined.

In his remarks, the Socialist Party MP Bushati said that, the “Basha Tax” was voted out of the system by Albanian citizens in 2013.

“So, the “Basha Tax” was once voted against by Albanian citizens, it is a tax that can help only 1% of the population. A total of 28 thousand to 2.8 million Albanian inhabitants will benefit from this scheme,” Bushati stressed. //a.i/
