Amid the soaring prices of oil in the country, where within a week the price recorded an increase of about 70 ALL, reaching the value of 269 ALL per liter, citizens called on the government to intervene, as they consider it a speculation of traders.

Speakers from civil society also raised the issue of the soaring prices of staples, calling for intervention as it is taking a heavy toll on thousands of families.

“The government should not let this situation get out of control at the expense of the citizens. If we are in crisis, we should share its burden rather than render the cost of living unaffordable,” some protestors said.
