Protesters threw Molotov cocktails at the city hall.

The flames engulfed almost the entire façade of the entrance to the capital’s city hall, prompting the timely response of the police force which put out the flames.

This is the fourth protest called after the arrest by order of SPAK of some former directors of this municipality.

Citizens and representatives of the opposition participating in the protest demand the resignation of the mayor Erjon Veliaj, after the arrests of some former officials of this institution.

Meanwhile, the State Police have taken measures to ensure smooth running of the protest of the Alliance for the Theater, the Reestablishment and the Freedom Party in front of the Municipality of Tirana. Numerous police forces have been put on standby, while protesters have been called upon to refrain from acts of violence.
