“The Municipality of Durrës strongly believes that violence against women and girls is a societal issue that cannot be tolerated. This dedication is reflected in our local policies, which prioritize the protection and empowerment of women through social, economic, and psychological services,” said Sako.

The Mayor of Durrës highlighted that “the battle against violence is an ongoing journey that demands persistent dedication and cooperation. Each of us has a role to play—whether as parents, educators, activists, or leaders of institutions. Now is the time to strengthen our solidarity, to listen to and support survivors, and to create a city and society where women and girls feel safe, supported, and empowered.”
