The chairman of the High Prosecution Council, Alfred Balla, stated in a media briefing after the meeting behind closed doors, that the legal framework in place for the protection of prosecutors and judges is complete.

The head of the HPC said that the meeting touched on ongoing cooperation between the institutions, adding that they also talked about the threats against two prosecutors from Laert Haxhia’s band.

He said that the Prosecutor’s Office has a commission for the protection of prosecutors, and when someone comes under threat, he turns to this commission and is immediately assigned protection.

“In all situations arising in the system of justice and prosecution, our cooperation is institutional, lawful and cuts across all areas. This is a collaboration that will continue in the future on a periodical basis.
