According to the press release of SPAK, this Memorandum focuses on cooperation between the two institutions in the field of fight against organized crime, terrorism, corruption and money laundering.”

The Federal Prosecution Office of the Kingdom of Belgium and the Albanian prosecution authorities maintain very good cooperation relations starting from 2011 when the Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the General Prosecutor’s Office Albania. Over the past 10 years the two countries have closely and successfully cooperated.
Given the current situation, the establishment and functioning of the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK), the establishment of cooperation between the two institutions is considered to be necessary and added value to meet the future objectives.

During the signing ceremony, the magistrates of the two countries underlined the importance of mutual trust and common objectives in the field of fight against organized crime, terrorism, corruption and laundering of proceeds from criminal activities.
