TIRANA, Oct 19 /ATA/-By Maela Marini/ The latest episode of the “Flasim” podcast, titled “The Spokespersons of Plants”, featured three founders of a laboratory dedicated to the study of medicinal and aromatic herbs as guests of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Lindita Vrushi, a graduate in Microbiology and Chemistry, serves as the CEO of the “AMEL Ekstrakt” laboratory, which focuses on the extraction of essential oils.

Trained and certified in Food Quality and Safety, Vrushi previously served as the head of the Microbiology and Botanical Extraction Laboratory and worked as a microbiologist at the Elbasan Regional Hospital. Throughout her career, she also collaborated with CEFA Italy in the field of agriculture.

Meanwhile, Marsil Xhemollari, a 30-year-old pharmacist from Korça, is involved in several public health projects. Together with his wife Eriselda, a nurse, they shared that, like many young people, they were tempted to move to Germany. However, after weighing the economic factors, they decided it was better to stay and invest in Albania rather than emigrate—and their plans have so far paid off.

Meanwhile, Eriselda Xhemollari, a trained nurse who has paused her nursing career to study pharmacy, is also part of an international network of experts contributing to global anti-doping testing programs.

All three are dedicated to microbiology, pharmacy, and nursing, and they came together to establish this highly successful laboratory.

During the podcast, Prime Minister Rama addressed the guests’ question regarding government support for entrepreneurial ventures.

“We have supported numerous individuals and businesses in various projects, and much of the positive outcomes you see also attributed to government support through its institutions. Naturally, it is never enough, but I firmly believe that anyone with sufficient ambition—someone who refuses to give up in the face of obstacles and is determined to advance their project—has plenty of opportunities to succeed today,” Rama said.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the government represents only one door, while countless others are available through various institutions, foreign partners, and European Union programs.

“The EU program is accessible to all, especially universities. It requires partnering with a university and the capacity to prepare a strong proposal, and the chances of securing funding are very high,” Rama said.
