“We have another long history that I don’t want this audience to dive into, that about immovable properties. In the field where you work because of a different tradition, the law on redistribution of properties after communism was not implemented. There are also such things in our part of the world, that the law may not be applied because the law was based on the concept of distributing land to all the people who were members of the communist cooperative, that is, to distribute a land plot and give them the opportunity to become individually self-sufficient. The division was based on a formula, but in that part of Albania which has fertile land, people knew the old borders, the old family lands.”

PM added that the law has been amended to adapt to the local context in order for this to work.
