TIRANA, December 2/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama wrote in a post in the social media today that the work on construction of Tushemisht promenade in Pogradec is underway while the road connecting Tushemisht to the Customs has been completed.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared in the social media photos from the works for implementation of this project.

This project, which reflects the commitment to sustainable and nature-friendly development, integrates sustainable tourism in harmony with the conservation rules of this natural park.

Drilon-Tushemisht is located in a small geographical space, where some of the pearls of Albanian nature are beautifully intertwined, such as: the Drilon springs, Lake Pogradec, characteristic houses of the area, narrow passageways and picturesque landscapes, which create a wonderful oasis with numerous opportunities for the development of tourism in the area.

This project allows visitors not only to walk along the Drilon promenade, but also, through mainly pedestrian paths to reach the Drilon springs and Tushemisht. Every intervention has been carried out with environmentally friendly methods, protecting biodiversity. /a.f/r.e/p.s./

TIRANA, June 16/ATA/- The first phase of the investment in building the promenade along Durrës beach has been completed.

PM Edi Rama wrote in the social media that, “With the first phase of Durrës beach revival project, a part of the new promenade is already ready for the tourist season.”

The promenade on the coastline of Durrës, one of the most frequented tourist areas during the summer by local and foreign holiday-makers, has lanes dedicated to pedestrians and bicycles.

This investment includes the construction of a three-kilometer promenade along the entire length of the beach, with increased greenery, parks and sports spaces to provide a much-needed connection from the Dajlani Bridge to the Convalescent rest home.

Between the promenade and the beach area, there will be stations with sports equipment for outdoor physical activities, as well as areas for practicing water sports.

The investment project foresees that along the promenade there will be areas dedicated to children, spaces for the beach part, beach stations, service spaces, as well as the reconstruction of the buildings’ facades.

Based on the model already created in Vlora, the Lungomare of Durrës is a project that envisages to reconceive this area in accordance with the ever-growing demands of tourists, but also to give a new economic impact to the businesses that operate there./p.s./

For residents and tourists alike, the promenade serves up unforgettable views and beautiful memories of days by the sea.

But over the years, the promenade’s outdated infrastructure was failing.

Dim lightning at night, crumbling, narrow walkways and small, difficult to access beaches prevent residents and tourists alike from fully enjoying this historic and beautiful space.

The government of Albania sought help from the World Bank for its reconstruction. The World Bank is a good partner for this project.

Ramis Husi –Deputy mayor of Saranda municipality said that, “they financed the reconstruction of the iconic stone steps back in 2018, which really work well for our city.”

Both projects combine modern functionality with design that honors our city’s unique architecture. The new promenade has further highlighted the city stone steps.

The new promenade offers many improvements. It’s space doubled. The Panoramic Balcony which overlooks the coast and provides the beach access from the eastern coast has been added.

The quayside currently home to fishermen boats has been rehabilitated. Other improvements include a new public pool, public beaches equipped with facilities such as showers and restrooms, brighter lightning, a surfaced sidewalk, and a dedicated bicycle lane.

Arben Cipa- Sipa Tour Travel Agency said that, “the promenade integrates elements that improve the urban landscape, facilitate mobility, provide information to tourists, and create space for activities and celebrations, without compromising the identity and historical-cultural monuments of the city. Centrali restaurant owned by Vladimir Musei is one of the many businesses that operates along the promenade.”

Vladimir Musei- owner of Centrali restaurant said that,” the promenade is very precious for Saranda. It has brought positivity to Saranda so much needed for the tourism and at this time.”

The economy of the city as well as that of Albania depends a lot on the tourism industry. The new promenade will make it possible for Saranda to develop its tourism potential even more in the future.
