The protesters continued their march along Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard, opposing the planned tourism project in the Zvërnec area, policies concerning protected areas and strategic investments.

Academic Lush Susaj called on citizens to join the ongoing protests in large numbers, stressing that the movement was a civic initiative rather than a party-led effort.

Activist Edison Lika accused the government of using organised crime and violence to stay in power, alleging that criminal groups had influenced elections and intimidated citizens.

He added that the protest was also against what he described as economic oligarchy, which he said was taking over public spaces.

Launched on May 31 against the planned investment in Zvërnec, the civic protest has broadened its demands over the past months to include calls to repeal legal changes concerning protected areas and cancel the “Mountain Package”.
