TIRANA, May  4 /ATA/ The project of the Belgian architecture studio, 51N4E, was announced on Thursday the winner for the construction of the “Niko Dovana” stadium in Durrës.

After the public presentation of the 3 projects, the jury selected the Belgian architecture studio 51N4E, a project that conceives of the stadium as part of the city, where community life is intertwined with activities and sports that the new stadium will offer.

The “Niko Dovana” stadium in Durrës is the next sports facility after the Korça stadium, which will be transformed into a new multifunctional center for the city.

Once the new stadium is completed, the main sports competitions will be held in optimal conditions, but also business and entertainment will have their own dedicated spaces, adding to attractions for all those visiting Durrës.

The project entails basketball and football training fields, an outdoor and an indoor swimming pool.

The open international competition, launched in February this year, selected three prestigious architecture studios in the final stage: 51N4E (Belgium) Bjarke Ingels Group, BIG (Denmark) and MVRDV (Netherlands) to publicly present their architectural proposals to a jury composed of international personalities in the field.
