TIRANA, Oct 23 /ATA/ Revenues collected from corporate profit tax reached 45.3 billion lek in the first nine months of this year, up 1.9 billion lek or 4.4% compared with the same period in 2024, official data showed on Thursday.

The increase reflects improved economic performance and stronger fiscal administration, the finance authorities said.

Higher corporate profits driven by domestic consumption and expansion in key sectors such as construction, tourism and services contributed to the rise.

Authorities said efforts to curb tax evasion and bring more businesses into the formal economy also played a role.

For 2025, profit tax revenues are projected to reach about 60.3 billion lek, with a focus on strengthening risk-based audit systems and developing tools to deter and prevent tax avoidance.

TIRANA, June 24 /ATA/- Albanian parliament is expected to discuss a government normative act devised to help local exporters that have incurred unexpected financial losses as the Europe’s single currency has hit its all-time in the domestic exchange market.

The Ministry of Finance and Economy, following a series of consultations with the interest groups and exporters, drafted an assistance package that includes the normative act already approved by government earlier this month and forwarded to parliament two days ago.

The normative act, expected to go through the parliamentary Committee on economy and Finance, envisages exemption from profit tax liabilities the companies that export more than 70% of their product until March 2024 and they will have to settle this liability should these companies record annual profit rates.

The attached document underlines the need for this government decision to help exporters cope with potential losses due to the significant depreciation of the Euro, saying the fiscal incentive won’t have medium-term effects.
