Minister of Finance and Economy, Anila Denaj, said during the presentation of the “Action Plan 2021-2025” that this is a testimony to the functioning of the measures.

During the last 8 years, the government reduced the fiscal burden for 97% of employees, saving 45 billion ALL to Albanians.

As part of progressive tax policy, big business is supposed to pay more in taxes.

Meanwhile, through three fiscal packages, there was a shift from 10% profit tax for all businesses to zero profit tax on small businesses alone.

“We made it a reality during an adverse year of struggling with the pandemic impact to help the small business bounce back,” said Denaj.

As part of the relief measures to support the small business, the government has also raised the threshold for inclusion in the VAT scheme from ALL 2 million turnover to 10 million.

With the VAT exemption of businesses with an annual turnover up to 10 million ALL, Minister Denaj emphasized, we relieve the fiscal burden on entrepreneurship and households and formalize the economy.
