Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu stated in the social media today that for over 20 years, Zdrava limited liability company (LLC) has grown alongside local farmers by investing in advanced technology and transforming domestic agriculture into a competitive force in international markets. Highlighting this success, Koçiu praised the company and farmer Xhuljan Doda for expanding processing capacities through strong collaboration and government support.

“We support any investment that adds value to Albanian products and drives economic growth,” Koçiu stated.

Farmer Xhuljano Doda, from the village of Lekaj in the Rrogozhina municipality, is marking his sixth year of cooperation with Zdrava LLC.

“We are harvesting tomatoes on 20 hectares this year with Zdrava and we expect to yield 800 to 900 tons for industrial use,” Doda said.

On his part, Saimir Zdrava, manager of the Zdrava Group, noted that the company now exports items like pickles, sauces and jams to 37 countries.

“We have worked with Xhuljano in Lekaj for six years, harvesting 600 to 700 tons of tomatoes annually to process into tomato concentrate, cooking sauce and juice,” he added.

“9107 tons of goods such as scrap, coal, food and 260 containers are being processed today in the largest port of the country,” Durrës Port Authority said today.

The Bank of Albania reported that if compared with the same period last year the foreign investments in this sector got increased by 23%.

The processing industry has actually entered into a new development trend thanks to increase of the local agriculture production where the foreign entrepreneurs are increasing investments while last year there were none.

The agro-processing industry is heading this sector with several important investments in all its sectors from the processing of milk, meat, fruits and vegetables and so on, thus, bringing a new standard of development with quality products, increase of the value in the range of production and creation of new jobs.

The meat processing sector is heading with 85 new investments in physical assets in 27 municipalities of the country 23 of which investments are start-ups and 12% belong to the foreign entrepreneurs who invest in our country./j.p/r.e/p.s./

Durrës Port Authority announced on Thursday that, 5 commercial vessels with 8,117 tons of goods such as glass, scrap, cement, iron, as well as 340 containers are being processed in the port of Durrës.

While, 6 vessels with 21,283 tons of goods such as;  steel and cement products are expected to be processed. Also, the “Zeko y” vessel with 3,617 tons of goods is expected to be processed at Ports’ piers.

In the 4-month period, January-April of this year have been processed nearly 1.4 million tons of various goods, recording an increase of 16% compared to the same period a year earlier.

3 vessels, “Grit Cement” with 3,700 tons of cement, “Knidos” with 6,000 tons of coal and “Mosvik” with 3,000 tons of iron are expected to be processed.

“4,448 tons of iron and 3,700 tons of cement have been processed today in the port,” Durrës Port Authority said.
