The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in addition to supporting the growth of production and agricultural exports, is devising policies for the expansion of investments in the processing of products as a good alternative that further promotes local production, generation of income, employment, but at the same time helps local farmers market their fruits and vegetables.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca announced that, “the fruit and vegetable processing sector has been supported in recent years through a grant of 18 million and 529 thousand euros, from the European Union, co-financed by the Albanian Government.”
Minister Krifca drew attention to the company “Canaj sh.p.k.” in Koplik of Malësi e Madhe, specialized in fruit processing and the production of natural juices, highly demanded by the market.

“In the beginning, Saimir started working with imported products, until he decided to use and invest in the variety of local products to create a complete processing and production line”, said Krifca.
The support programs from ARDA/IPARD II, measure 3, rendered possible the investment in construction of the factory and in quality equipment that meet European standards for fruit selection, processing and packaging. Also, in addition to the safety and guarantee of production, this investment has cut losses after harvesting and processing of fruits. /j.p/sm/
