The news was shared by the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, who hailed it as a successful case performed at Fier Memorial Hospital.

Minister Koçiu stated that the 47-year-old patient arrived at the emergency room just three hours after experiencing symptoms, including an inability to speak and move the left side of his body—typical signs of a stroke.

“Thanks to the immediate response of the medical team and the successful execution of the thrombectomy procedure, a complete recanalization of the blocked blood vessel was achieved,” said Koçiu. According to Koçiu, “just two days after the intervention, the patient left the hospital without any motor deficits and returned home in excellent condition.”

“This is yet another example of the power of collaboration, modern technology, and the dedication of our doctors to saving lives,” stated Koçiu.
