TIRANA, Feb  23 /ATA/ Private pension schemes have recorded an increase in the number of members.

According to the report published by the Financial Supervisory Authority (AMF), the number of members in pension funds at the end of December 2022 was 36,518 members, marking an increase of 8.78% compared to the end of 2021.

The data analysis for the voluntary private pension market at the end of September shows a total of net assets of 5,699.38 million ALL and with an increase of 1,114.84 million ALL, or 24.32%, compared to 31.12.2021.

The Financial Supervision Authority (FSA) announces that at the end of June 2021, the number of contributors reached 32,187, an increase of 3.9% since the beginning of the year and 5.5% compared to the same period a year earlier.

According to the FSA, the value of assets at the end of June 2021 reached ALL 3.97 billion, an increase of 22.5% compared to a year ago and 10.3% since the beginning of this year.

Same sources say that at the end of 2020 about 56% of the total number of members are included in individual voluntary pension plans, while about 44% of them in professional plans devised by employers for their employees.

The total value of the private pension market in Albania amounts to about 33 million euros. /j.p/sm/
