In a post on social media, Rama said that “Loyal Presence” forms part of a system designed to make listening to citizens a requirement, and to turn that requirement into an obligation to respond.

“Loyal Presence establishes a very simple rule: citizens should know in advance where and when they can find their representative, at the same place and at the same time, according to a schedule published beforehand,” Rama said.

The Socialist Party leader said that every Friday at 5pm, representatives will be at designated locations to listen to citizens.

“Loyal Presence is about listening in turn, face to face, one-to-one, and in a quiet setting,” Rama said, adding that citizens can attend at the designated time and wait their turn to sit down with their representatives, who will take note of their concerns.

The Prime Minister stressed that “Loyal Presence” is open to citizens regardless of their political affiliation.

“Loyal Presence sets political affiliation aside. It does not matter which party you support or who you voted for. Nor does it matter if you were openly opposed to the Socialist Party during the election campaign,” Rama said.
