Vlora prefect told ATA that a helicopter has arrived to tackle the blaze, alongside deployed Armed Forces and local rescue teams from Finiqi and Delvina.

To stop the fire from spreading toward Mesopotamia and protecting nearby homes, authorities requested air support. Allushi stated that the operation will continue until the blaze is fully contained.

Meanwhile, the National Civil Protection Agency deployed local firefighters, 60 volunteers, 40 troops, and three military helicopters—two “Cougarm” and one “Black Hawk”—to the scene.

The recent heatwave has sharply increased wildfire risks, prompting civil protection teams to maintain high alert for emergency support.

Shkodra prefect Holta Duda, speaking during an inspection visit to Obot, said the village remains effectively isolated due to extensive flooding.

Duda said teams from the National Civil Protection Agency are on the ground and on full alert.

“Water levels of up to 60 centimetres have been recorded on this road, making it impossible for smaller vehicles to move freely,” Duda told reporters.

She said a high-clearance vehicle has been deployed to the area and that the Armed Forces are also present to assist residents.

The Shkodra prefecture said it continues to coordinate and monitor the situation with all relevant institutions, with public safety remaining the top priority.

In a statement to the media, Prefect Nesturi said that 4 homes were burned, of which 3 were uninhabited.

“However, we have neither lives lost nor other damages that could have been very large since the fire was spreading in many different directions and this caused a wave of panic among the residents in the first moments, but that was made possible not only by evacuating them, but also by the effort of all forces to save the city and the property of the residents”, he said.

Today, the fire in Delvina has spread to the outskirts of the city due to the wind, while there is no danger in the areas near the oil wells and the hospital.

“There is no major risk even at the gas deposit”, he added.

According to the prefect, 2 helicopters are helping from the air in Delvina and more help is expected through the European Civil Protection Mechanism.

In a statement to the ATA, Prefect of Fieri region Arben Çuko said that operational troops are working on the ground while yesterday there was carried out an air intervention in an effort to put out the fire.

“In Fier region, there is an active fire in Lofkënd-Drenie forest area. The fire is burning in the territory of Mallakastra municipality”, said Çuko.

According to Prefect of Fier region, there are operating on the ground 5 firefighting vehicles, 25 Fire Protection personnel, 25 Armed Forces troops, as well as 20 municipal forces.

Çuko said that on the western side of the fire, it is impossible to operate with vehicles or forces, due to the rugged terrain.

With the air temperatures dropping and the coordinated efforts increasing, officials are optimistic that the fire can be brought under control soon.

Speaking to the media, Jole noted that around 1,000 personnel and nearly 100 vehicles have been deployed across the south-eastern region of Korça in recent days to respond to multiple wildfire outbreaks.

“We were alerted two days ago by the Gorica border station about a fire that had broken out in the Prespa National Park,” Jole explained. “Thanks to a rapid response by local structures, including the staff of the Regional Agency for Protected Areas, immediate action was taken to contain the fire in its early stages.”

So far, approximately 7 hectares of vegetation have been burned.

“We hope that today’s and tomorrow’s efforts will lead to full containment of the fire,” the prefect said.

Prefect of Vlora region Kristaq Kiço told ATA that, “The situation is difficult, as the fire in Finiq has spread. The fire started in the western part of the village and spread at a high speed, favored by the wind that was blowing in the area at that time. The houses in the village of Finiq are also endangered. Prefect Agron Geca said today to ATA that, “The situation in Kukës region is normal, while the national and municipal roads are passable normally”.

“From the municipalities of Kukës, Tropoja and Has, we have no reports of any emergency case”, stressed Greca.

According to him, the supply of electricity and drinking water is normal throughout the territory of Kukës region.

Together with Director of the Regional Administration of Protected Areas Gjergji Koki and other representatives of institutions that are members of this committee, there were discussed some issues such as the illegal cutting of forests, the need for efficient waste management, protection and revitalization of natural resources, the prohibition of illegal hunting as well as the most efficient administration of situations created by fires.

Other problems addressed were the mining activity in the protected area, the discharge of sewage into the lake (in the Udënisht and Çërrava unit), as well as the closure and final rehabilitation of the waste disposal site in Peshkpi.

Prefect Jole has asked all relevant institutions to take the necessary measures for the good management of protected areas, as a unique asset of the beautiful nature of the region.

Also, with the director of Regional Administration of Protected Areas, he also discussed the possibilities of finding alternative sources for the drafting of Management Plans for other declared protected areas, such as Bredhi i Hotova, Gërmenj and the Vjosa River Valley in Kolonja, Cangonj in Devoll and the Valley of Gjergjevica in Korça.
