The three pre-trail detainees are charged by prosecution office with attempting to break out of prison 313 in Tirana three days ago.

According to the prosecution, the two pre-trail detainees Arbër Cekaj and Fatmir Pjetri attempted to escape using braided sheet to scale down from the ventilation area on the terrace of the building to the administration stairs, but they were detected and caught by the police forces in the prison yard.

“According to preliminary verification carried out by GDP and Internal Control Service, it resulted that the pre-trial detainees conspired with each other to escape. The jail break attempt was preceded by an incident committed by another pre-trial detainee, who tried to commit a suicide, drawing the attention of the security forces who rushed to take him to hospital,” General Directorate of Penitentiary System.

Arbër Çekaj is charged with narcotics trafficking and involvement in criminal syndicate, Fatmir Pjetri is charged with armed robbery and violence and Lulzim Çepele with exploitation of prostitution.
