Both consortiums will submit their financial bids, and the winning company will be selected afterward.

The Deputy Prime Minister, also the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, announced today that the pre-qualification phase has been completed and that 2 consortiums have been selected to proceed to the next phase out of the 5 consortiums that participated in the international competitive bidding.

“The construction of the new Porto Romano Port is on the right track, as the pre-qualification phase has been completed. Five international consortiums participated in an open and transparent competition. The commission, led by the international consultant Royal HaskoningDHV, qualified two consortiums, who, after submitting the hard copy documentation, will present their financial bids,” said Balluku.

Albania, she emphasized, will have a model port, a hub in the Mediterranean, which will serve the entire region. /j.p/sm/
