Hundreds of locals and tourists packed Lezhe’s main square, “Gjergj Kastrioti”, where 55 chefs prepared a variety of pomegranate-based dishes in a celebration blending culinary tradition with modern interpretations.

Now in its latest edition, the festival has become a cultural fixture for the region, drawing attention to both the symbolic and gastronomic value of the fruit in Albanian cuisine.

“Lezhe is increasingly becoming a center of tradition, culture, and Albanian gastronomy,” Mayor Pjerin Ndreu said in a social media post, adding that local culinary innovation is gaining recognition beyond national borders.

The event also featured traditional music, dance performances, and a concert headlined by local artists and guest performer Mateus Frroku.

Held annually, the Pomegranate Festival is part of a broader push to promote regional identity and agrotourism in Albania’s north.
