TIRANA, April 22 /ATA/ Over the course of nearly a month, 6,500 officers from the State Police, ranging from entry-level to senior positions, have received training on how to address electoral crimes and maintain order during the May 11th process.
Agron Çeli, the Director of Public Order in the State Police, stated in a media interview that “for several months, the State Police have focused on training those who will be involved in this electoral process.”

“To meet its legal duties and responsibilities in guaranteeing an orderly electoral process, the State Police have crafted a work plan that extends to the local directorates. The training sessions, conducted in collaboration with SPAK, OSCE, the CEC, and the General Prosecutor’s Office, were organized at various levels. Starting in February and finishing in March, 6,500 officers from different units were trained,” emphasized Çeli.

According to him, 1,500 police officers from the Crime Investigation Units have also been trained, conducting separate training sessions in collaboration with the Prosecutor’s Offices of the General Jurisdiction Courts in all regional directorates.
During these training sessions, police officers acquired general knowledge on safeguarding properties and their roles throughout the electoral campaign, including their responsibilities until the vote counting process is closed.

He announced that “we are now in the second phase, the electoral campaign phase, and we are working daily to maintain order and security during the electoral activities of the political parties.”
