TIRANA, Jan 17 /ATA/ Minister of Interior, Bledi Çuçi, met on Monday in Tirana with his Turkish counterpart, Süleyman Soylu, who was in our country as part of the official visit of President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Çuçi also signed an agreement with him for the training of the State Police forces by the Turkish Gendarmerie.

“The meeting in Tirana with the Turkish counterpart and friend Süleyman Soylu, with whom we took a concrete step forward with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation in the Field of Training and Education for Law Enforcement,” said Minister Çuçi while sharing some photos from the meeting.

“The quality of education and professional qualification of our security forces are very important to prepare qualified leaders, with modern knowledge and skills, who know how to address the challenges of the time. The Turkish Gendarmerie will provide in this regard all the expertise and capacities for the State Police and not only. Although we are going through a difficult phase due to the pandemic, both our countries have known how to take steps forward and take to another level the bilateral cooperation to tackle the common challenges in the fight against organized crime, terrorism, immigration and cyber crime. “We will continue to work together to create a better climate of bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest,” he said.
