Thanks to increased trust of citizens in the Police and prompt reaction of Tirana’s Traffic Police services, police forces prevented a potential road accident after receiving phone calls from the citizens that a luxury vehicle on the interurban road Durrës-Tirana, was moving at high speed and performing dangerous maneuvers. Tirana Traffic Police blocked the vehicle and after the breath alcohol test, the driver of the vehicle, citizen JV, 27 years old, was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Meanwhile, on the Tirana-Elbasan interurban road, driving speeds ranging from 158 km / h to 175 km / h were detected by radar.

During the last 24 hours, 14 drivers were caught in the act, of whom 8 for driving under the influence of alcohol and 6 for driving without a license.
66 driving licenses have been suspended, of which 48 for speeding and 18 for driving under the influence of alcohol or while intoxicated.

Also, 2356 drivers were fined for violation of the Road Code that poses a potential risk for involvement in road accidents, namely for wrong overtaking, speeding, using a mobile phone behind the wheel, disregarding the traffic signage, failure to wear a helmet and a seat belt, as well as speeding and dangerous road maneuvers.
