After Budapest, Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj has also visited Prague, in the wake of the latest decision of the Municipal Council of this city to name one of the main squares after our national hero, George Kastriot Skanderbeg.

Mayor Veliaj gave the news by himself writing in the social media after meeting with Mayor of Prague Zdeněk Hřib.

“It is always a pleasure to meet the mayor of Prague, my friend Zdeněk Hřib. Like many capitals of the world, Prague will have a square named “Skanderbeg”, in honour of our national hero! Thanks to Zdeněk and the Prague City Council for the initiative, “writes Veliaj.

Three months ago, Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj inaugurated in Budapest together with his counterpart Gergely Karácsony, the bust of our hero George Kastriot Skanderbeg in the central park of the Hungarian capital. The bust, a gift from the Municipality of Tirana for the city of Budapest, was placed in front of the memorial of his contemporary, the hero of Hungary, Janos Huniadi. /j.p/p.s./
